FAQ's

Who are you?
My name is Rebecca, I am the owner of Rebecca’s Cakes and The Vegan Cake Girl. Each cake is made completely from scratch, by me, in my insured and health authority registered kitchen.

Where are you based?
Rebecca’s Cakes is run from a private home in Cheshunt. We used to be based in Enfield and we have moved just 8 miles up the road!

Do you have a shop where I can come and buy cakes?
No, sorry! We are a home based business and each and every cake is made to order. We do not keep any ready made products ‘on stock’ as we want to ensure every cake is fresh and tasty.

The Village Wholefoods Store in Enfield stocks a small range of our cakes.

Do you offer delivery or can I collect from you?

Please note that all deliveries are subject to availability!

Collection is welcome, we are located close to Brookfield Shopping Centre in Cheshunt. We also have an address in Enfield that we can arrange for you to collect your order from if desired.

Do you mail order?

We sure do! Please see our Mail Order Page for details of what we can send and what it will cost!

How much notice do I need to give to place an order?
The minimum amount of notice we need is one week.

If you have not given a weeks notice then it is unlikely we will be able to fill your order but please feel free to ask and we will try to help when possible.

We recommend giving as much notice as possible as we often get booked up 3-4 weeks in advance.

During Wedding Season and at weekends we get booked up very quickly so bookings are heavily dependant on availability.

You can place your order as far in advance as you wish – we are already taking bookings for October 2010!

How do I place an order?
Please see the How To Order page!

Why are you only contactable by Email? Why is there no telephone number?
Recently we have received a large volume of ‘prank’ and ‘cold’ calls, we have decided to take our number off the website to see if it makes a difference.

If you would like to discuss your order by telephone please email us with your enquiry, leaving your phone number and requesting a call back.

Is there a minimum order?
In money terms, no. But some products, such as cupcakes can only been ordered in set minimum quantities.

I have an idea of something I want you to make – will you do it?

If it’s do-able, we will do it!

Do you make wedding cakes?

We make hugely popular Wedding Cupcake Towers.

We do not make any tiered Wedding Cakes but we have a fabulous contact who will be happy to take your enquiry so please get in touch and we can pass it on.

How long will your cakes keep?

Cupcakes  – Around 3 Days
Layer Cakes and Loaf Cakes – Around 1 Week
Tray Bakes – Around 2 Weeks

Please ask for any other items and we will advise.

Can your cakes be frozen?
Most of them can be frozen for up to three months if wrapped well.

We have never attempted to freeze a decorated cake or cupcake but some of our customers have done this with good results.

Are all of your cakes vegan?

No.  We bake non-vegan cakes in our kitchen to, but we are Registered by The Vegan Society and have checks in place to limit cross contamination.

All of our cakes are baked in the same kitchen and although we strive do all we can to minimise the risk of cross-contamination, we cannot 100% guarantee this.

All the cakes on www.thevegancakegirl.co.uk are completely VEGAN.

Are your cakes suitable for nut allergy sufferers?
We use nuts in our kitchen so although we can exclude them from a recipe, we cannot guarantee anything to be nut free.

Do you hire cake stands?
We hire 8 tier acrylic cupcake stands for £25, plus a £50 security deposit. We also sell smaller cardboard disposable stands for £8.

Can you gift wrap?
Cakes are presented in white cake boxes. We can add a coloured ribbon and a gift card for an additional £1 per box. We can also supply individual cupcake boxes for £0.80 each.

Do you offer seasonal products?
Yes, these are added to the Seasonal page throughout the course of the year.

Do you have a mailing list?

We do, that uses good old fashioned envelopes and stamps! If you would like to join please just email your name and full address.

We sometimes send out updates by email, but for the latest news and offers keep an eye on our Facebook Profile and Group.

Were you the cake company we saw at the Enfield Town Show?
That was us! 2009 saw us attend the show and sell out of our products for the 4th year running! See you at ETS 2010!

Do you sell gift vouchers or make gift deliveries?
We sure do! Please get in touch with your requirements.

Why do you no longer sell on EBay?
The ever increasing prices of the postage and eBay fees means that it is now not cost effective for us to sell through EBay. Don’t worry, we still do mail order, but you will have to email us direct to place your order.
